Departure to Tokyo
Oct 15th, Road to Tokyo. Total of 6 persons include my friend and his family and my family departed from KLIA2 taking Airasia flight from Malaysia, we arrived Haneda International Airport around 11PM local time, then we took airport transfer van (pre-booked a Toyota Alphad at JPY 34,720 per trip) to our home stay at Sangubashi near to Shinjuku.
Ghibli Museum, Mitaka (吉卜力博物馆, 三鹰)
Oct 16th, morning, we took our breakfast at a well-know Japan fast food retail-chain restaurant called Matsuya (松屋). It also well-know for cheap price with great Don meal (丼). The price range abour JYP 350 to 800. After finished our breakfast, we quickly moved to Sangubashi Station (Odakyu Line) and next stopped at Shinjuku Station and changed to JR Chuo Line in order to transit, then about 20 minutes we arrived Mitaka Station. After that we took shuttle bus with round-trip fare at JYP 320. At last we arrive Ghibli Museum (Reminder: Indoor photography is not allowed).
This is a must go visit to Tokyo, the well-know animator Hayao Miyazaki (宫崎骏) also the founder of Studio Ghibli. At here we saw many interesting thing like film machine, the origin studio and souvenir store. This place made our day filled.
Ticket, they do not sell entrance ticket. Visitor must purchase the ticket and pick the entrance time in advance. Then at the museum entrance counter, we presented our purchased ticket to gained a very beautiful entrance pass. There few sources that visitor can go for, find the URL provided for your convenient (http://www.ghibli-museum.jp/en/ticket-information). In conclusion we managed to get help from our home stay host to purchased tickets for us locally in advance in order to get very cheap price (JYP 1,000 per adult) in 2 weeks advance (tips: the ticket sold out very fast you don’t buy as early as possible). If you want to purchase by your own locally, you can get it from local convenient store – Lawson. And if you are getting from travel agency. the price would be 2 or 3 times more expensive than local price.
Kabukicho, Shinjuku (歌舞伎町, 新宿)
About 1PM, we get back to Mitaka station using shuttle bus. Our next spot were Kabukicho where another famous spot to visit. We finished our lunch at a well-know Ramen restaurant called Tonkotsu Ramen Hakata Furyu (豚骨拉面 博多凤龙). This is a must try restaurant if you like Ramen noodle with very rich pork bone soup. The price range is about JYP 800 to 1200 as consider very affordable price with very big portion of meal.
After the meal, the day was already 3PM and we go for casual walking around the well-known street Kabukicho street. We found many interesting here, and the streets also very well-known for clubbing, drinks, night show, and sex shop. Especially at night, and the night never get boring here.
